Emphatic  victory for united against Aston Villa restores lead over city

Manchester united restored their five point lead at the top of the table in convincing fashion with a 4-0 win against Aston Villa at Old Trafford but not without controversy as Ashley Young was labelled a cheat and diver as he allegedly dive to win a penalty for United's First goal.Ashley young cut inside the box and contact was made with Ciaran Clark as he ran through resulting in a penalty which Wayne Rooney scored to convert his 31st goal of the season and his 179th united goal. United then doubled their lead when Aston Villa failed to clear to the ball when Patrice Evra  crossed the ball as two Villa defenders let the ball goal through two the back post where Danny Welbeck score a much needed Goal to get his 7th goal of the season.

In the second half Manchester United carried on with their dominance as Aston Villa had one chance when heskey forced De Gea into a smart save from a header when he jumped above Rio Ferdinand. Then United wrapped up the points in the 72nd minute when Antonio Valencia's pulled the ball back to Wayne Rooney who calmly finished in the bottom left hand corner. Then in the 90+3 minute Jonny Evans' nicely weighted cushioned pass to Luis Nani as he slotted pass Shay Given to complete the win.Alex Ferguson's afterwards said "I think he played for the penalty. If the player decides to put his foot in and doesn't stay on his own feet and read the situation then he's fallen into that you know," he said.
"He's definitely taken him but I think it was a dramatic fall and I think that he maybe over did the fall but it was a penalty, there was no doubt about that."And I don't think he can have any compliant because he has actually taken him.""There could be twists and turns (in the title race) yet but I think the name of the game now is for us to enjoy ourselves, play with the expression we did today and hopefully we'll be alright".
